Even when faced with the greatest challenges of my life, I kept believing in myself and pushing forward. This mindset saved me and led me to an amazing opportunity that has completely transformed my life.

 

When I was in my mid-thirties, I found myself facing a difficult period in my life. I loved being a mother to my son, Matthew, but I felt like something was missing. My husband, Orlando, worked long hours, and I was often alone at home with our son. Being a mom brought me so much joy and purpose, but I still struggled with feelings of unfulfillment and depression. It felt like there was a missing piece, something more I was meant to do.

 

During this time, I grappled with a deep desire for a greater purpose, something that would ignite a passion within me. I needed something to strive for. I had always known I wanted to work for myself, to have the freedom and fulfillment that entrepreneurship promised. I tried various career paths—life insurance, court reporting school, corporate jobs, and even studying to be a school counselor. None of these felt right, and I was left feeling more lost and disheartened.

 

Then, in my late thirties, a suggestion from a family friend to consider real estate reignited a spark within me. It wasn't the first time someone had recommended real estate, but this time it resonated differently. My nephew getting his real estate license was the final push I needed. I decided to take the leap and got my license, too.

 

The transition into real estate was life changing. It gave me something to focus on, a way to channel my energy and talents. The process of learning the ropes, getting my first listing through door knocking, and closing my first deals brought a sense of accomplishment that I hadn't felt in a long time. Real estate didn't just offer me a job; it gave me a renewed sense of purpose and a way to connect with others on a meaningful level.

 

Helping people find their homes, being someone they could rely on and seeing the joy and relief in their eyes when they found the right place—these experiences filled the void I had felt for so long. I realized that my passion lay in these connections and the responsibilities that came with them. Each client I helped, and each home I sold brought me further out of that dark place.

 

In pursuing my passion for real estate, I have found a great way to pour my energy and care into other people’s dreams. This has been great for my mental health, and as a result, I am happier and more fulfilled—this positive change has directly impacted all areas of my life. I’m more present and can give my full attention to the people I am with, whether that is enjoying quality family time or working with my clients.

 

Now, I can look back and see how real estate didn't just choose me as a career; it saved me. It gave me the purpose and passion I had been longing for, allowing me to thrive both professionally and personally. Finding a path where I could work for myself, create my own success and help people was the key to transforming my life.

 

Because of the success I have found in real estate over the past decade and the hard work my husband put in for years, he was able to retire early. Flipping roles, he gets to be very involved with Matthew, especially as he enters high school. We were also able to buy our retirement home, putting us years ahead of where we thought we would be, and it is all thanks to real estate!

 

In my free time, I enjoy being part of a Friday night bowling league for over 12 years, where we unwind and have fun. I also love spending time at our lake house, boating and dancing. Sometimes, I just stay home, watch the Dodger game, barbecue and spend time with family and friends!Top of Form
